The holiday home is the result of a collaboration between designer Emil Thorup and Kalmar-huse. Together, they have created a fascinating house with contrasting materials as a recurring design feature. The combination of light and dark wood and the large glazed sections lend the house a unique atmosphere.
The light Douglas planks tie the rooms together, complementing the minimalist Nordic look. With its uniform appearance, Douglas also offers the perfect canvas for Emil’s many creative interior design experiments, including the dining table, which is made of FurniturePlanks finished with Paris Blue linseed oil.

The kitchen has direct access to the wide terrace that wraps all the way around the house. The large sliding glass doors eliminate the boundary between indoor and outdoor living and contribute to the modern and functional architectural expression.
To make the house suitable for all-year use while avoiding visible heat sources, underfloor heating has been installed throughout.
