Restaurant Silo

As far as the eye can see - that's the view you get from the top of The Silo in Copenhagen's northern harbour area, Nordhavn, where Restaurant Silo is located on the 17th floor.

The building itself is an impressive piece of architecture – a former grain silo which has been transformed by Danish architects COBE and today houses some of the capital's most exclusive apartments. The beautiful view of the city and harbour isn't reserved for the residents only though; Restaurant Silo lets everyone enjoy the picturesque backdrop with their dinner thanks to its grandiose, panoramic windows.

For many years the massive building has been referred to as the ‘Hvad Drikker Mølr’-silo by locals, due to the big graffiti tag in black capital letters that was painted along the top of the silo. A characteristic that had to be covered up with the transformation – but as a tribute to the history of the old grain silo, a smaller version of the graffiti tag has been painted on the wall across from the bar in Restaurant Silo.

The restaurant is divided into three different sections; lounge area, fine dining and a more relaxed setting called ‘the kitchen table’. As a contrast to the massive inflow of light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, walls and window frames are kept all black. The floor in Dinesen Oak is stained in a dark tone that matches the warm ambience.
